CPU modules ARM and x86

A CPU module usually has only one multipin connector and is intended to be mounted on a customised carrier board. Normally the CPU, memory and storage media are mounted on the module. Common module standards are COM Express, SMARC and Qseven.

Single board computers and CPU modules are available with either ARM or x86 as the CPU architecture. ARM-based systems are generally low-power and have a long production cycle. x86-based systems are often more powerful and have more interfaces.
