Digital product passports - a step towards a more circular electronics industry
Sustainability and circularity are not just keywords - they are part of our identity. By working with industry leaders and participating in strategic initiatives to promote resource efficiency, we are helping to drive progress towards a more sustainable electronics industry.
Ecolife Passport - digital passport for the products of the future
Together with Swedish Electronics we participate in the project Ecolife Passport: Circular economy with digital passport, which is co-financed by Vinnova. The project aims to develop an AI-powered platform for digital product passports that fulfils the upcoming EU sustainability requirements while promoting a circular economy.
The Ecolife Passport creates a digital tool that:
- Reducing waste by facilitating reuse, repair and recycling
- Extends product lifetime through access to accurate information
- Simplifies compliance for businesses in an increasingly complex regulatory environment
- Make sustainability data user-friendly and accessible for both businesses and consumers
The aim is to strengthen the Swedish electronics industry by offering concrete support to meet future demands for transparency, traceability and environmental responsibility.
Our role in the project
We at ACTE Solutions are actively contributing to the development of the platform. It will be able to obtain relevant metrics for our products with a particular focus on visualising CO2 footprint and other environmental data.
Providing concrete and verifiable sustainability values is crucial for product passports to become an effective tool for companies, buyers and end-customers. Through our participation in the Ecolife Passport project, we want to contribute to increased transparency and a more resource-efficient future for the electronics industry.
This is in line with our other sustainability efforts, where we focus on:
- Upgrade and repair even after the warranty period
- Reuse of parts where possible
- Energy-efficient and resource-smart solutions
- Sustainable logistics models that reduce waste and increase precision
Meet the project at the Electronics Fair in Kista - 2-3 April 2025
On 2-3 April, it's time for The electronics fair at Kistamässan, where Swedish Electronics and Vinnova will have a stand where the project Ecolife Passport is presented.
It is a great opportunity to learn more about the Digital Product Passport, see how the platform works and talk to some of the actors behind its development.
We are proud to be part of this journey - together we are building a more circular future.
